Structural Overview
Working Principle
The laboratory sealed sample pulverizer operates using a vibrating grinding method, driven by an electric motor. When the electric motor rotates at high speed, the eccentric hammers mounted on the shaft generate strong centrifugal force and vibrational force, causing the vibrating steel body to produce vibrational force. The grinding bowls mounted on the vibrating steel body form vibrational and grinding functions.
The material is loaded into the sealed grinding bowl, which contains crushing rings and hammers. The material is crushed and ground by the crushing rings and hammers to achieve the desired powdering effect.
Structures of laboratory sealed sample pulverizer
The machine primarily consists of the main body, base, vibration-damping section, power section, grinding section, clamping section, and electrical control section.
1. Machine body
The machine body is made of cold-rolled steel plates, which enclose the entire machine’s components, with the functions of sealing, safety, and aesthetics. The base frame is constructed from welded structural steel.
2. Vibration-damping system
The vibration-damping system consists of high-quality springs and rubber. The springs feature the “three highs” of high strength, high performance, and high elasticity, effectively minimizing vibrations and transferring them to the base.
3. Power System
The power system consists of a motor, an eccentric hammer, and a support steel body. When the motor starts, it drives the eccentric hammer to rotate. Due to the eccentricity and the action of the eccentric hammer, a high-speed rotational motion is generated, which is then transmitted to the grinding section. The support steel body serves as an upper and lower connection. Since the support steel body is a closed device, it also prevents unsafe accidents caused by the intense vibrations resulting from eccentricity.
4. Grinding Section
The grinding section primarily consists of a bowl base, bowl body, grinding ring, and hammers. After receiving power from the drive section, the grinding section operates at high speed, causing the grinding ring and grinding hammers to collide and grind the material at high frequency within the bowl body. The material collides with each other, and under this action, it is ground into the required fine powder.
5. Quick-clamping device
- This consists of an eccentric body, rolling body, and clamping handle. After placing the grinding bowl into the bowl seat of the vibrating disk, press down on the handle. Due to the action of the eccentric body, the grinding bowl is securely clamped onto the disk.
- The clamping device tightly fixes the grinding bowl to the vibrating disk, enabling the vibrational force to be effectively transmitted to the bowl, enabling it to operate and grind the material.
- Another function of the clamping device is to securely fix movable components, ensuring safe operation of the machine at high speeds.
Operation Steps of the grinding bowl
- Rotate the right arm clockwise with force.
- Release the pressure on the left arm.
- Lower left arm and open the hopper cover.
- Put the grinding machine parts and materials into the feed bowl.
- Cover the feed bowl with the lid and ensure that the lid cannot move forward, backward, left, or right.
- Put left arm on.
- Put right arm on, so that the eccentric shaft of your right arm fits into the groove of left arm.
- Rotate right arm forcefully so that it completely presses down on left arm, locking the bowl in place.
- The top cover must be closed before the sample preparation machine can be started.
Installation and Commissioning
Installation
The sample preparation machine should be installed in a sheltered place.
- Place the machine on a level surface, ensuring that all four rubber feet are firmly in contact with the ground to prevent vibration and displacement.
- This machine generates strong vibrations through the high-speed rotation of a counterweight mounted on the motor shaft, which is transmitted through the crushing mechanism to achieve powder production. Therefore, strong vibrations can cause loosening, fatigue, and fracture of various components. This poses a greater threat to the motor, potentially causing it to burn out.
- Users are advised to install additional overload, overheat, leakage, and short-circuit protection circuits. The machine must be safely grounded. Simple switches or AC contactors must not be used to start the circuit.
- Before starting the machine, users must thoroughly understand the machine’s performance, familiarize themselves with its structure, transmission characteristics, and operating procedures.
- Check that all bolts on the machine housing are securely tightened, that the motor power cables are not leaking electricity, that the feed hopper is securely positioned, that the clamping components are reliably secured, and that the housing latches are properly locked. Only after inspecting all components and confirming there are no abnormalities should the machine be started.
Commissioning
- First, turn the central knob timer clockwise to approximately 2-5 notches (about 2-5 minutes.
- Then press the start button, and the machine will begin operating and automatically stop. Generally, materials can achieve the desired powder consistency in 5 minutes.
- After using the machine 20 times, the smoothness of the material bowl gradually improves, and the crushed materials can achieve the best crushing effect.
- If the material is difficult to crush or requires a finer particle size, the processing time can be extended.
Precautions for Machine Testing
- The machine must first undergo a load reduction test, with half the material loaded for testing.
- After two cycles of testing, observe whether the machine exhibits any abnormal noise, severe vibration, loose bolts, or other abnormal phenomena. If any abnormalities are detected, stop the machine immediately for inspection and maintenance.
- Only after normal operation is confirmed during testing may the machine be put into use. All testing and operations must be conducted with material loaded; never operate the machine without material to prevent damage to the crushing and grinding components.
- When loading material, ensure that the crushing ring, crushing hammer, and bowl body are all filled with material to prevent collisions. To ensure good sealing performance, in addition to ensuring that the rubber seal ring is intact and properly positioned, the pressure rod must apply sufficient pressure to the bowl cover.
- Insufficient pressure may result in poor sealing. If the rubber seal ring is cracked, aged, or has lost its elasticity, it must be replaced with a new one.
This machine does not require foundation anchoring.
- Connect to a three-phase 380V power supply, ensure proper grounding, load the sample into the bowl, secure the bowl cover, and tighten the pressure rod. Ensure the pressure rod is adjusted to prevent the bowl from moving during operation.
- The upper cover must be securely closed before starting the sample preparation machine.
- Select the grinding time on the timer according to the type of material, press the start button, and the machine will begin operation. It will automatically stop when it reaches the set time.
Precautions
Before starting the machine, check whether the screws in all parts are loose and whether the flange of the hopper body and cover are properly seated.
- When adding or removing samples, wait until the machine has come to a complete stop.
- If the moisture content of the sample is high, it should be dried in advance to prevent sticking to the hopper, which may affect the grinding fineness. Generally, the drier the sample, the better the grinding effect.
- The feed particle size should not be too large to prevent the impact ring from jamming and failing to achieve the desired grinding effect.
Maintenance and Inspection
Maintenance
Before starting the sealed sample pulverizer each time, carefully inspect all components. Assess the condition of the springs based on vibration levels. The quality of material grinding primarily depends on the condition of the grinding and crushing components. Regularly inspect the grinding bowl, grinding ring, and grinding hammers for smoothness, pitting, or uneven surfaces. If it finds pitting or unevenness, replace them with new parts.
- The intensity of vibration is related to the condition of the eccentric hammers and springs. The eccentric hammers are pre-adjusted at the factory and do not require frequent adjustments. Spring breakage is the primary cause of vibration.
- If it detects issues, replace the affected parts promptly. When replacing broken springs, all springs must be replaced simultaneously. Replacing only one spring may result in uneven elastic strength between new and old springs, leading to further breakage and potential accidents.
- Vibrating components connect power sources via cables. Due to frequent vibrations, the rubber sheathing on the cable may crack, leading to electrical leakage or short circuits. Therefore, regular inspections are necessary to prevent electric shock accidents. Replace the cables with new ones every six months.
Inspection
- This machine should undergo annual disassembly, maintenance, and servicing. During maintenance, replace all springs.
- This machine is generally used for dry grinding. When the moisture content of the sample is high, it should be dried at approximately 105°C to prevent excessive moisture content, which can reduce grinding efficiency and cause sticking.
- Generally, the drier the sample, the better the grinding efficiency. This product has no special installation requirements; as long as it is placed on a level surface, it can operate normally.
